Sometimes I seem to forget it, but I actually earned a degree in Journalism way back when. I have always enjoyed research. Poring through old journals and explorers’ records has always been pure pleasure for me. Sometimes I felt like I’d like to stick to the research gig and shy away from the hard task of writing. I also had the opportunity to travel around the north a fair amount familiarising myself with the geography of some of the areas of my personal interests. I was pretty fortunate that way. And interviewing old timers was always a mind-expanding experience too. Then I managed to put it together and present some of my work to the public.
